The day will begin with coffee and tea and a demonstration of arranging a large scale arrangement in a vessel using chicken wire. We will demonstrate how to select the best blooms, choose lovely colour combinations and create shape and movement within your arrangement. We will discuss the merits of using British flowers and foliage and advise where you can source these from. It will then be your turn to try out the techniques you’ve learnt by creating your very own large flower arrangement.
We will break for a delicious lunch to restore our energy levels for the afternoon’s session.
Following lunch, we will focus on installation work, and in small groups you will have a go at creating installations using no floral foam. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and take photographs.
We will use lots of British flowers and foliage for this class including some grown in our cutting garden round the corner from our studio in Hackney. We will take high res pictures of your creations which we will send you after the workshop. We encourage you to bring your own cameras/smart phones to document your work through the day.
All flowers and materials and lunch will be provided. Bring a big, strong bag to take flowers home in at the end of the day.
We look forward to getting flowery with you!
